Are you filling up your body with trauma while building your business?

Aren’t you supposed to talk about business in these emails?”

No I don’t.

I talk about my experiences, mindset, strategies, actions, and lessons.

Before talking about this 2-minute trauma technique…

Let me be clear…

I’m not a trained therapist in any capacity.

I’m just sharing what’s been useful for me.

I truly believe business can be the ultimate self-development and self-healing journey if you let it.

It will naturally bring up all the triggers…

hidden emotions…

the dark side that you might have been hiding from.

Different levels of business will reveal different sides.

Now you can hide, suppress, or run away from these emotions or triggers.

Or you can accept them.

Sit with them.

Learn the lessons they want to share.

Integrate them.

And move forward.

Because you might be able to suppress the so-called “negative emotions” for some time.

But our body KEEPS the score (you can read the scientific literature on that).

Before we move on…

I’d suggest 1 thing. Stop labeling emotions as positive or negative.

Or you will keep running away from these “negative emotions”.

Emotions are emotions.

And humans are designed to experience them all.

Over the years I have learned different techniques for integrating these emotions.

But today I’ll just share a simple 2-minute technique that has worked for me.

It’s a somatic technique.

It might not solve your previous traumas. Consult your therapist for that.

But it will allow you to collect the least amount of trauma moving forward.

Here it is:

1.) Understand…

Thoughts are the language of your mind.

Feelings are the language of your body.

2.) Once you know that…

You can start with this:

  1. Sit comfortably (preferably in a quiet space)
  2. Set a timer for 2 minutes
  3. Close your eyes
  4. Take 3 deep breaths
  5. Feel the sensations in your body
  6. Whatever you’re feeling is fine… tension, tightness, wind, smell, sound… just sit with it for 2 minutes

What this is doing is getting you in TUNE with your body.

3.) Do this for a few days. And then take it to the next level.

The only step we’re adding here is acknowledgment.

Acknowledging the feelings we’re feeling.

You want to be SEEN and APPROVED OF.

That’s what you wanted as a kid and as an adult now.

And that’s what we’re doing with this 2-minute technique.

Different feelings show up differently in our bodies.

And as you become more aware… you will discover what each emotion feels like for YOU.

Since most people would have experienced this…

Let’s say you’re feeling anxiety/fear…

It might feel like a tingling sensation on top of the stomach.

  1. Sit comfortably (preferably in a quiet space)
  2. Set a timer for 2 minutes
  3. Close your eyes
  4. Feel this anxiety/fear sensation on top of the stomach (and don’t try to change it… accept it as it is)

Now you have acknowledged the feeling and given it space.

That’s all it needs.

And what you might experience is that when you feel it fully… it simply passes away.

Or it changes into a different sensation.

And when you feel that fully… it just passes away.

It doesn’t get suppressed or stored in your body.

That’s all you need to do.

2-minutes is all it takes.

And as you practice it more often…

you will be able to do this while walking, before the call, in an argument, etc.

Your body will store less and less trauma moving forward.

Try this. And let me know how it goes.

I know this was a long and different kind of email.

Let me know if this resonates with you.

That’s it for today.

Take care!
