“I don’t want to stay here when my father passes away”
Around 18 months back…
I had this client.
And on one of our coaching calls…
He said something that I remember quite vividly to this day.
Before I tell you that, let me give you a bit of context…
He was coaching a few startups.
Making around 15-20k per month.
“What was the problem?”
Everything he had was local and offline.
He was literally visiting the offices of these startups.
Working closely with the founders so they can get the next round of funding.
Not gonna lie… it was an easy ride with him.
He had the credibility and the skills.
We helped him develop the online acquisition system and program delivery structure.
He more than doubled his business in less than two months.
But that’s not why I am telling you this story.
On one of our first coaching calls…
I asked him these general but important questions.
“Why do you want to go online?”
“Why is it important for you to make more money now?”
Do you know what he told me?
“My mother had passed a few months back.
At the time I wanted to leave Texas… leave the country…
And travel somewhere far away.
But I couldn’t.
Because I didn’t have enough money saved up.
And my business wouldn’t have worked while I was traveling.
Now I want to make more money and switch to online…
Because I don’t want to be here when my father passes away.”
Those lines just stuck with me.
I strongly believe…
When you have this kind of powerful vision… powerful WHY…
No one can stop you from WINNING.
In your case, your WHY might be different.
A few WHYs that I have heard…
“I’m a single parent… taking care of 3 children. And they are growing up fast. I want to provide them with the best education possible. I want to travel with them like we used to when my husband was alive”
“I want to celebrate my 40th birthday in Italy… driving a Porsche… staying in a multi-million dollar mansion with my beautiful wife. And feel like a bad** king.”
“I saw the disgust in my wife’s eyes for the failure I have been. I don’t want to be a failure anymore.”
“I deserve to be making more than these less credible and less caring coaches”
“I don’t want Bugattis and big mansions. I just want to provide for my family and never be worried about monthly bills again.”
“Everyone else is winning. But I have been struggling for years and pretending that I’m winning. I don’t want to do that anymore. I want to win for real”
“When I walk in a room… everyone should know who’s the QUEEN”
“I want to make so much money that my rudea** brother-in-law who has always undermined me come to me for a loan”
“I want to stop feeling this pulse-pounding fear in my body and have the financial security that lasts”
“I wanna destroy my competition so bad that they never even dream about walking in the same lane as me”
“I want my kids and partner to look at me with respect”
Whatever it is…
If you have a WHY…
