Is more knowledge STOPPING you from growing your business?
Just the other night…
I heard this small Arabian story.
A man died.
He had 17 camels.
And 3 sons.
He left a will for his sons.
When his will was opened and read, it said…
One-half of the camels should go to the first son.
One-third to the second son.
One-ninth to the third son.
Now the sons DIDN’T know what to do.
Because they got 17 camels.
Do you cut these camels to distribute them?
NO.
What do you do?
So these sons went to the person who was most knowledgeable in town.
A famous Mathematician.
He thought hard…
Tried hard…
But couldn’t find any solution.
Because maths is maths.
He said… I have never divided camels in real life.
And this whole thing seems to be foolish.
If the will is to be followed exactly… then the camels have to be cut.
They have to be divided.
But the sons weren’t ready to cut the camels.
So what to do?
Then somebody suggested…
You go to someone who knows something about camels.
Not an arithmetic scholar.
So they went to the Sheikh of the town.
He’s an old man.
Uneducated.
But wise.
Experienced.
They told him their problem.
The old man laughed.
He said… don’t worry.
It’s quite simple.
He loaned one of his camels to them.
Now the camels were 18.
And then he divided.
9 camels were given to the first son. Half.
He was perfectly satisfied.
6 camels were given to the second. One-third.
And he was perfectly satisfied too.
2 camels were given to the third. One-ninth.
He too was perfectly satisfied.
1 camel was left.
So Sheikh took his camel back.
And he said… you can go now.
Each of you got what was written for you in the will.
Knowledge can be abstract.
Wisdom is practical.
Knowledge is just words.
Wisdom is experience.
If you have consumed a lot of knowledge by going through a lot of courses or YouTube videos…
But your business is still not where you want it to be…
STOP chasing NEW dopamine-inducing information.
