“Should I talk about pain or desire in my marketing?”

Recently I got this question…

“Should I talk about pain or desire in my marketing?”

Well it depends on…
Who you are and who you are talking to.

But I know…
“it depends” answer might not serve you.

So I’ll give you 5 quick pointers to consider:

1.) It doesn’t need to be an either/or question.

You can talk about both… pain and desire.

For some, pain is powerful.

For others, desire works the best.

2.) If you’re talking to high achievers…
people who are already winning…
And wanting to hit that “next level”…

Slide more towards that desire for “next level”.

3.) When someone is in excruciating pain and you’re talking about “la-la dream walks”…

They might NOT relate to you at all.

They want their pain to go away NOW.

They want someone who understands their pain FIRST.

And once their pain is taken away…

Then they would be more open to hearing about “dream walks”.

In these cases… slide more towards pain.

4.) Know who you want to attract

“Struggling to pay your bills?”
“Save extra $10 using these coupons”

Would attract a vastly different audience than if your messaging is…

“Imagine making 50k months…
Having a long waitlist of clients…
Enjoying your dream vacations…
Living in your dream home”

5.) Know your INNER blocks

Sometimes even though we might know…

What our audience relates to…
What helps them move forward in the right direction…

We STRUGGLE to talk about PAIN or DESIRE…

Because we are NOT comfortable with them.

Know your INNER blocks.

Because they might be STOPPING you from serving your people in the best way possible.

Now I’ll stop with those 5 pointers.

That’s it for today.
