you can’t get clients because…
I’ll get to the clients’ part through this short A-rated story.
Yesterday night I was reading this…
Leo and Arthur are sitting opposite the local brothel in Dublin…
discussing the virtues of the Catholic faith.
Suddenly George Greenberg, the local rabbi, approaches the brothel’s door…
Looks left and right… then hurries up the stairs.
“Did you see that?” roars Leo.
“I’m glad I am a Catholic.”
Ten minutes later…
The Anglican priest approaches the door.
Looks around quickly… then dashes up the stairs.
“Another hypocrite,” says Leo, laughing.
“Thank God I am a Catholic.”
A few minutes later Arthur nudges Leo and says…
“Hey, man, look! There is Father O’Murphy coming this way.”
The two men watch in stunned silence as the Catholic priest disappears up the stairs into the brothel.
Watching them stunned…
A random man whispered…
There must be a death in the house!”
Our eyes see something.
And then we make our assumptions.
Sometimes without knowing the deeper context.
When these assumptions are right… great!
When these assumptions are WRONG… they can cost us a lot.
You aren’t getting clients because…
Your assumptions are wrong.
Or they are half correct.
For example:
You see a few successful coaches posting content.
You start posting content too.
You do it for a few weeks. But you don’t get that many clients.
And then you wonder…
why is this content thing not working for me?
Because your assumption was half correct.
With a growing number of coaches…
just posting content WON’T cut it.
Do you have a clearly defined content strategy?
Or are you just winging it?
Do you know where your audience growth will come from?
Or are you just hoping people will see your content?
Can you tell me how exactly are you incorporating the messaging that will attract your dream clients and repel the rest?
How are you posting about your offers? How many times each month?
Which people are taking you up on those offers?
Is there a strategy to build a waitlist of your dream clients?
Or is it a lot of worrying, hoping, and praying?
Does your sales process actually work for new people?
Or does it only work for warm referrals?
The coaches who are succeeding have taken all this into account.
And many other things.
But you won’t see these inner details from afar.
When you know the missing pieces and you are not actively trying to find them…
Then you’re simply participating in your own misery.
Reflect on these questions to start moving in the right direction.
